Vote for ‘Vy’ on Global Rockstar 2014!

Vy, the smooth voice of ‘Save Me’, is representing Sri Lanka in a fierce competition taking place right now in the world arena of Global Rockstar 2014. Global Rockstar is an online music competition running in its second year with participants from 64 countries and is the world’s biggest online music competition. The first round, the National Preliminaries, is an online voting round where the artists obtain votes from global audience through the Global Rockstar website using Facebook and Twitter. The artist with the highest amount of votes in their country category will go on to the second round, the Global Finals.

The best of the 64 countries will be voted for by a panel of judges who are record industry professionals, producers and talent coaches.  In this spirited round, the artists have to impress the judges bringing out the big guns and their secret weapons. Why? The winner walks away with a grand prize of $25,000 and distribution deals of two singles along with the opportunity to work with international artists and production studios.

Vy, coming from a family of art, music and expression was given the independence to explore his creative side with no boundaries. Being musically inspired from a young age, he composed his first song at the age of 12. Since then he  has set up a basic home studio and been producing music.  In 2009, along with Asitha and Darren from the band ‘Five Minutes Apart’ which won the 2009 TNL Onstage, ‘Breathspace; was born. Breathspace was awarded ‘The Rolling Stone Annual Award’ in 2009 for the best band in Sri Lanka and they had the opportunity to perform at the Hard Rock Café in Pune (India).  Vy has over 32 songs composed and they will be released in the coming months.
