Hakiem HanifThe much awaited ‘Visa-On-Arrival’ scheme is expected to be implemented from 1 August 2019. The scheme was originally slated to be implemented on 1 May 2019, but was put on hold following the Easter Sunday attacks. The scheme will provide visitors from 39 countries including Austria, Belgium, and France the ability to apply for visa upon arrival in Sri Lanka. Eventually, the scheme is expected to be made available for visitors from China and India, two of Sri Lanka’s top tourist markets.
